Baku Olympic Stadium was certified by ESSMA, the European Safety and Stadiums Management Association.
ESSMA is a non-profit organization in collaboration with UEFA bringing together more than 150 managers of sports facilities in Europe and beyond. Association which is founded in 1996, certified such stadiums like Commerzbank Arena, Camp Nou (home stadium of FC Barcelona), Wembley Stadium, Galatasaray Turk Telekom Arena, Allianz Arena (home stadium of FC Bayern München), Estadio Santiago Bernabéu (home stadium of FC Real Madrid).
Under the auspices of the Association are carried out specialized activities related to governance, operating stadiums and arenas and e the safety of visitors.
